Open house at the handicap tailor’s (socially produced clothing for special needs) within the frame of the Austria Sustainability Action Days

On Saturday, October 5, 2013, within the frame of the Austria Sustainability Action Days, the first clothes for wheelchair users made in sustainable cooperation have been presented.

 

The project of "handicap tailor's" produce accurately fitting, timeless and trendy functional clothing for persons with special needs in cross-border cooperation (AT – HU). The initiator of this project, Josef Schoisengeyer (chairman of Club 81, club for disabled persons) invited to the Club Café, together with the platform of socially produced and the Hungarian social enterprise ESÉLY Kft (Gyoer). The presentation and fashion show of the trousers, bathing gowns, ponchos and so on customized in Hungary were the highlights of this event

 

The target of this event was mainly to propose the personal clothing desires of persons with disabilities and their relatives for the development process, so that they actually benefit from the outcome! Within the framework of this presentation, precious experience for an appreciative cooperation has been collected. The master tailor Silvia Buchetitsch from St. Poelten will support this project technically.

 

A further fixed date for trying-on new clothes is already scheduled for this year, when one will also be pleased with the socially produced jackets.

 

Beside the clothes shown, a framework program with information stands on the EU project of "SoPro HU-AT" / socially produced for the environment" and also an ideas competition for sustainable products made of used waste containers completed this event: Four winners receive a birdhouse "Pick up XL" each.
