Handicap Tailor‘s

In a best-practice-project, a cooperation between Austrian experts and the Hungarian social enterprise ESÈLY Kft. at Gyoer, functional clothing, which is true to size, accurately fitting and ageless, shall be tailored for persons with special needs. Handicapped persons and their relatives are invited to introduce their personal wishes for clothing into the development process of this project, and to benefit from such clothing which is custom-made for them.

Low-priced clothes made to measure for everyone?

In autumn 2013, in St. Poelten the first "socially produced" clothes for wheelchair users were presented. This "fashion show" and a further discussion with persons interested showed that there is actually need for such clothing, but that also good assistance is required in order to receive clothes which are accurately fitting, comfortable and appealing, in good quality at a low price. The whole organization was performed by the "platform of socially produced". In the meantime, a complete women's and men's collection of trousers in 9 sizes each has been designed through the committed collaboration of an expert woman (tailor Silvia Buchetitsch). In the Hungarian workshop, these trousers are currently being tailored.

Handicap Tailor's: An idea with opportunities for the future

Up to now, clothing made to measure meeting special needs are luxury goods, and therefore almost not available. Through cross-border cooperation within the frame of this project, subsidized by the EU, a production and delivery structure shall be established, which benefits all participants. Partial clothing made to measure of high quality at low prices for persons with special clothing needs, as well as more work load and fair conditions of order and work for the Hungarian workshop.
